Lifestory Research surveyed 12,864 people in the United States, gathering their opinions on different HVAC brands. This study was 12 months long and the chosen participants had to specify their level of awareness of different HVAC brands. The results showed Trane ranking #1, on top of scoring the highest Net Trust Quotient, 118.8, from participants. The study evaluates different brand equity metrics to rank the different HVAC companies. There are certain sections and specific questions in the survey that only the qualified participants can answer – usually homeowners shopping for a certain product. To assess the Net Trust Quotient, participants are asked to evaluate how much they trust the different brands from the survey. It is calculated with an average score of 100 for all brands in the study. Once a brand achieves a 95 percent confidence level, they are considered a top candidate for recognition. After these results are in, brands of the same caliber are compared.
