In 1981, R.O. Hunton moved to Houston and established Houston Trane, the forerunner of The Hunton Group. In 1990, he acquired the distribution division adding Trane residential and light commercial equipment to the existing Trane commercial product offering. He then promptly built the Hunton Group’s corporate headquarters building, located in Houston’s Westchase District. For the next twelve years, Hunton Distribution witnessed steady growth – driven by customer service and a superior lineup of products and services.
To better serve our employees and customers, Hunton Distribution opened its Central Green headquarters in north Houston in December 2008. The 117,000 square-foot facility contains office space, a parts and equipment store, state-of-the-art training facility, and over 100,000 square feet of warehouse space. In 2018, Hunton Distribution proudly opened an additional location at 735 FM 1969 (Dixie Farm Rd.) in southeast Houston. This facility boasts an impressive 76,000 square-feet of warehouse space, training center, and parts and equipment store. In 2021, the growth continued with a third Hunton Distribution location at 10560 Bissonnet Street in West Houston. In 2027, Hunton Distribution’s footprint will expand once again. We are in the final stages of construction of our newest facility in College Station.
